Students will spend this week continuing their research on the
Top 20 Works of Art to Know (according to Mrs. Mulloy). Each of the first 5 works should be investigated in
at least 2 pages of the IW using the research guidelines given to students and posted
here.

The first checkpoint for completion is
Wednesday (1/18). The next 5 works and corresponding IW entries will be due
next Wednesday (1/25).
In addition, all students are creating
Artist Statements in their IWs. A guide for writing an Artist Statement can be found
here. Finally, students will begin working on a studio project while continuing their written and research work in and out of class.
Advanced Art classes will be working on the 12 Peppers project in a few weeks and should begin brainstorming. For this work of art, students will be creating 12 identical images on 4x4" paper of an everyday object as subject, creating each one using a different medium. All 12 pieces will be mounted to one board to create one work of art. As always, a full IW should accompany each project.
