Welcome to the online art studio, aka the wired atelier*!

This blog is designed for students and families in Allison Fuller-Mulloy's SMHS Art Classes. It is a site for posting our daily work and homework (IWs) each week, ideas and images to explore further, reminders and due dates. I hope this blog will help students by reinforcing the week's major ideas and activities, giving make-up work for absentees, and providing families a look into the atelier every day!

Week 5... Snowy Weather

Students were out of school Monday, 2/1 for Snow!File-BrockenSnowedTrees.jpg

Art 1: Students spent this week exploring the Element of Space. Positive/Negative space was used in the creation of drawings based on chairs and stools in the room; students used bright colors to define the positive and negative spaces. Physical space was explored through one-point perspective drawing techniques students learned in class, creating a cityscape using one-point perspective.

Art 2/Photo: Students critiqued their Tree photos as a class. Several will be chosen for display at Town Hall for the next month. Students also completed self critiques in their IW's before creating wiki pages to publish their critiques. More shooting time and photo history were given in class.

Art 3/4: Students continued work on their Haiti posters this week while working in their IW's on homework assigns and planning their next choice project. IW check for assigns 1 & 2 was 2/3.
